- How did you use media technologies in the construction, and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Creating social media sites was an important aspect of the construction stage for my production. For example, I created a Twitter, Facebook and Instagram page for 'Blood Feud' and I posted images, relating to my film, on each of these sites. Consequently, using social media sites meant that I conformed to the conventional standards for contemporary film productions - creating an online presence for my film so it would reach a larger audience.
During production, I used a Nikon Coolpix camera to film my shots. The camera was a convenient technology as it filmed in high-definition (HD) and had numerous settings, such as aperture and white balance, that could be increased and decreased to make my shots more aesthetically pleasing. I used an Apple Mac to edit my footage during the production and post-production process of the construction stage. A tripod was used to hold my camera in place during filming.

Prominently, YouTube was a significant technology in the construction stage of my production as I uploaded music, a rough cut and final trailer video to this video sharing site. Firstly, I created a YouTube account so my film had its own channel on which my audience could view my videos. In order to reach a larger audience, using YouTube was important as I copied links for my YouTube videos so they were embedded onto other areas of my overall production, such as my film's website.
Blogger was especially important for the construction stage as I could add images of my magazine cover and poster, videos of my rough cut and trailer and links to my social media sites and website to the blog.

On an Apple Mac, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, a video editing application programme, to edit my footage during the construction stage. Mostly using the programme's timeline to create sequences, I edited all of my footage using Premiere Pro so I would have one video that could be rendered and uploaded to YouTube. Importantly, I used Premiere Pro to add transitions, such as dip to black, cross dissolve and additive dissolve, so I could artistically join my shots together. In addition, I used Premiere Pro to edit my film's lighting. Evidently, I worked with the fast colour corrector tool to add green and red tints to some of my shots.
Furthermore, I used Adobe After Effects to create an institutional logo and trailer titles for my production. Particularly, I applied the mist and curtain preset backgrounds, from After Effects, to my logo and title designs. Moreover, since I used an Apple Mac, I had numerous preset fonts at my disposal. In After Effects, I used the align tool to horizontally and vertically centre the text for both designs. Additionally, from DaFont, I downloaded a bakery-themed font for a baker's hat symbol that I used for my institutional logo. Creatively, Adobe's workflow integration feature meant that I could export my logo and titles from After Effects into Premiere Pro.

Moreover, I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 for the construction of my magazine cover and poster. Unquestionably, Photoshop had numerous tools that I used to help me enhance my product's creativity. For example, the text tool allowed me to add the fonts I had downloaded from DaFont and the FX button let me add various effects to the text, such as drop shadows, strokes and colour gradients. Another important aspect of using Photoshop was its layers palette as I could alter blending, opacity and move layers so I achieved the desired appearance for my magazine cover and poster.
In order to create trailer music for my production, I used Garageband - a digitial audio workstation. Garageband has numerous software instruments that can be used to compose original music. I recorded my own trailer's composition on Garageband and then exported the music in an iTunes sound file so it could be used in Adobe's applications.

Another technology I used was the Wix website builder so I could create a website for my film. Wix was extremely useful as the website builder had many template designs that I could choose from. In addition, the website builder included the option to add images, videos and vector art so my film website looked artistic and interesting to its visitors.
