- How did you use media technologies in the construction, and research, planning and evaluation stages?
During the research stage of my production, I used YouTube, Netflix and
IMDB. Importantly, I used these sites to research neo-noir,
science-fiction films so I could enhance my understanding of this genre.
For example, I used Netflix and IMDB to search for films that related to
neo-noir, science-fiction and, on YouTube, I watched film trailers and
noted their forms and conventions.
Also, I used Microsoft PowerPoint and Prezi to evaluate and present my
research. For instance, in order to create a suitable main product and
ancillary texts, I analysed various trailers, websites, magazine covers
and posters and then I presented this analysis through these
presentation programmes.
Blogger, an online publishing service, was an essential technology as
I could present my research in an easily accessible, diary-style
format. For example, I embedded my PowerPoint and Prezi
presentations onto Blogger so the research and inspirations for my
production is available for my blog's visitors. Moreover, Authorstream
was significant as this site created HTML embed codes so my PowerPoints
could be added to Blogger.

My Apple iPhone 6 and iPad 2 were important technologies as they were the products that I used to undertake this research. Notably, the Google Chrome and Safari applications on these products allowed me to browse for information on websites, such as YouTube, that would influence my production.
In terms of audience research, I used Microsoft Word and Outlook as I could create audience questionnaires at home and use webmail so they would be available at school - where my audience research took place.
